AHA CPR Classes

A frequent question from students is which version of the CPR training do I actually need? With so many options, how can I select the right class? Look no further! Here is a description of each CPR class we offer, as well as the typical student who attends each course.

BLS (Basic Life Support) Provider
The BLS Course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. This course also emphasizes the importance of teams and working as an effective team member during multirescuer CPR, as well as the relief of choking for adults and infants. Our BLS Provider course is conducted in a traditional classroom-based setting. BLS Provider courses are designed for helathcare providers in both prehospital and in-facility environments. This includes firefighters, EMTs/Paramedics, nurses, physicians, pharmacists, ancillary healthcare workers, dentist office staff, and anyone else needing this for healthcare professions.

Heartcode BLS
This course affords the same completion card as the traditional BLS Provider class, in a blended format. Students first complete the videos, written test, and interactive scenarios online. Once that part is complete, you attend a skills practice and review session with an instructor before completing the hands-on skills test. This is designed for the same audience as the BLS Provider course.

Heartsaver Courses
Heartsaver courses are designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory (for example, OSHA), or other requirements. These courses can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting. Heartsaver courses are offered with several options: CPR/AED Only, First Aid Only, or First Aid and CPR/AED. Heartsaver courses can be completed as either a traditional classroom-based class or as a blended learning option.
